Compliance apps for South African businesses

One app to start. Add more as your compliance footprint grows.

Compliance apps

Not sure which app to start with? Most South African businesses start with OHS , which is live today and usually the most pressing duty. Tell us where you stand and we will point you to the right app: get a scoped proposal.

OHS: Live

Health and Safety compliance for South African employers, aligned to the OHS Act 85 of 1993 and ISO 45001. The OHS app captures your hazards and statutory duties and keeps them current, with a qualified human reviewing what is appointed, filed or reported on your behalf.

What’s included

  • ISO 45001-aligned hazard register (HIRA)
  • Statutory appointments under the OHS Act 85 of 1993, with appointment letters
  • COIDA tracking
  • Incident workflow: capture, investigation and corrective actions
  • Contractor management
  • Audit-ready registers and reporting

How the apps fit together

Each app covers one body of South African law. They are deliberately built one at a time, in sequence, because each one needs its own sourced rule set: the Act and its gazetted regulations read directly, the operative provisions recorded with their section numbers, and amendments tracked against the Government Gazette. A compliance service that launches four half accurate domains is worth less than one that launches a single accurate one.

What they share is the platform underneath. One client record, one set of sites and employees, one document store, one evidence trail and one set of permissions. Adding a second app does not mean re-entering your business, and an appointment or certificate that is relevant to two domains is held once.

AppStatusWhat it covers
OHSLiveOccupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 and its regulations: statutory appointments, health and safety representatives, first aid, committees, incident reporting, risk assessment, fire and emergency, contractor management and the registers behind them.
POPIAIn developmentProtection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013: Information Officer registration, the compliance framework, processing records, operator contracts, data subject requests, direct marketing consent and breach notification.
LabourRoadmapBasic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, National Minimum Wage Act and the UIF, COIDA and Skills Development registrations and returns.
FICA and AMLRoadmapFinancial Intelligence Centre Act 38 of 2001: accountable institution status, goAML registration, the Risk Management and Compliance Programme, customer due diligence, sanctions screening and the reporting duties.
CIPCRoadmapCompanies Act 71 of 2008: annual returns, the compliance checklist, beneficial ownership, the securities register, the public interest score and the assurance decision that follows from it.
SARSRoadmapTax Administration Act and the payroll, provisional tax, VAT and record keeping duties, with the tax compliance status kept visible.

Every roadmap domain already has a free checklist. Each app page carries the full readiness checklist for that body of law, with the section of the Act behind every item, the current penalty exposure, and a downloadable PDF. You do not need to wait for the app, or to be a client, to use them.

Questions about the apps

What is the difference between the platform and an app?

The platform is the shared layer: the client record, the document store, the evidence trail, the permissions, the reminders and the reporting. An app is a managed compliance domain that sits on top of it, covering one body of law with its own registers, appointment types, deadlines and rules. You buy an app because you have that obligation. You get the platform because every app needs it.

Can I take one app without the others?

Yes. Occupational health and safety is the usual starting point, because it is the duty that generates inspections and the one that is already live. Adding a second app later reuses the same client record, sites, employees and document history rather than starting again.

What does "in development" or "roadmap" actually mean?

In development means the app is being built now against sourced statutory rules and has a defined launch. Roadmap means the domain is committed but not yet in build. We publish a free, sourced readiness checklist for every roadmap domain ahead of the app, so the obligation is useful to you whether or not you become a client.

Is this software I operate, or a service you run?

It is a managed service. The software handles the tracking, the reminders and the paperwork. Qualified people own the review and the sign-off. You keep the remediation decisions, because the statutes place the duty on you and no service agreement changes that.
